Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to attend New York Comic Con this year, however it’s impossible to miss some of the huge news that has been generated from Day One.
Blade Runner 2 reveal title!
What may be one of the most eagerly anticipated sequels of the previous 3 decades, Ridley Scott’s cult classic Blade Runner has finally shown the first signs of reemergence.
Although numerous casting rumours have floated around as well as a couple of subtle references from Harrison Ford and Scott during interviews, nothing has really managed to give fans the excitement they desperately crave. Until now.
Released by the movie’s personal twitter feed, the now mentioned Blade Runner 2049 displayed 2 images. The first being the Title that manages to give fans something to hold on to.
Enchanted 2 gets a new title and a new Director.
Speaking of quiet classics, Disney’s 2007 twist on the Princess mythos starring Amy Adams and James Marsden took the world by storm. It not only slingshot Amy Adams in to the public eye, but managed to refresh the dying concept of Damsel in Distress being touted by her willing Prince Charming.
Caesar expects War within the Planet of the Apes.
Considered one of the best reboots to a franchise this decade, Planet of the Apes has gone from blockbuster cannon fodder to motion picture juggernaut within 2 films (the less we talk about Tim Burton’s attempt to re-energise this saga in 2001 the better). It wasn’t until 2011 that Rupert Wyatt’s brilliant Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released that the true potential of this series was realised.
Fast forward 5 years and we find ourselves eagerly awaiting any and all news regarding the third instalment War for the Planet of the Apes, and like it predecessors it does not disappoint!
